Participating Organizations

The funds raised by AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run 2012 support AID Atlanta and 7 other participating organizations provide treatment, medication, prevention education, meals, housing, mental health services, child care, substance abuse counseling, pastoral care, and research to those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

AID Atlanta  The mission of AID Atlanta is to reduce new HIV infections and improve the quality of life of its members and the community by breaking barriers and building community.

AIDGwinnett/Ric Crawford Clinic  AID Gwinnett is a community-based organization organized to respond with compassion and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS epidemic through advocacy, education and collaboration with other agencies.

AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta (ARCA) The misson of ARCA is to improve the quality and length of life for persons with HIV through treatment research, education for health care providers and patients, and access to new therapies, and to prevent new HIV infections through prevention research, prevention education and free HIV/STD testing service.

Aniz  The mission of Aniz is to provide comprehensive health awareness, education and prevention services for the disadvantaged multicultural children, adults, and families, through therapeutic intervention and education for those who are infected/affected with HIV/AIDS.

Jerusalem House  believes Housing is Healthcare for homeless and low-income individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS and leads the Atlanta community to meet the needs of this population.

Living Room serves individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS in metro Atlanta by providing subsidized supportive housing, housing referrals and housing-related emergency assistance. Our goal is to help our client’s access and maintain permanent, affordable housing.

Open Hand helps people prevent or better manage chronic disease through Comprehensive Nutrition Care™, which combines home-delivered meals and nutrition education as a means to reinforce the connection between informed food choices and improved quality of life.

Positive Impact The mission of Positive Impact is to eliminate the risk of HIV transmission and to empower those affected by HIV through culturally competent and inclusive prevention, education, mental health, and substance abuse treatment services; this is accomplished through a broad menu of programs, many of which are delivered in both English and Spanish.
